Driving Directions

From Lake Shore Drive:
Exit at 57th Drive (the Museum of Science and Industry). Proceed west, curving around the museum. At the 3rd light, turn right (west) onto the Midway Plaisance, which is 2 blocks south of 57th Street Art Fair. Look for street parking or proceed to one of the parking lots (see info and map below).

From Indiana:
Take I-65 N or I-80 W to the Skyway (I-90/94 W). Drive westbound on the Skyway, exiting at Stony Island. Drive north on Stony Island and turn left (west) onto the Midway Plaisance, which is 2 blocks south of the 57th Street Art Fair. Look for street parking or proceed to one of the parking lots (see info and map below).

From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94)/South Suburbs:
Exit at Garfield Blvd. (55th St.) and drive east, following the signs for 55th Street through Washington Park. Cross over Cottage Grove Avenue, continuing east on 55th street, which is 2 blocks north of the fair. Look for street parking or proceed to one of the parking lots (see info and map below).

From the Northern Suburbs:
Take I-90/94 to I-55 North to Lake Shore Drive South. Follow the directions from Lake Shore Drive shown above.

From the Western Suburbs:
Take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to I-90/94 East. Exit on the I-55 North Exit and then to Lake Shore Drive South. Follow the directions from Lake Shore Drive shown above.

From the Southwest Suburbs:
Take I-55 N East toward Chicago. Exit onto the Dan Ryan Expressway to the exit at Garfield Blvd. (55th St.) and drive East, following the signs for 55th Street through Washington Park. Cross over Cottage Grove Avenue, continuing East on 55th Street, which is 2 blocks North of the fair. Look for street parking or proceed to one of the parking lots (see info and map below).

 

General Parking Information

Limited street parking may be available throughout the Hyde Park neighborhood. Places to look for street parking include 55th Street, 59th Street, the Midway Plaisance, and 60th Street. Additional parking can be found at the University of Chicago Parking Garage on the South East corner of 55th and Ellis Avenue, or in the community lot on the South West corner of 60th and Stony Island Avenue. See map below. NOTE: The streets closest to the fair, including 56th, 57th, and Kimbark will be closed to vehicle traffic.
